Marketing Notes, Week Ending 3/30

“I added $2M of net new in the first two months of 2025”

Here are a few highlights of my discussions with clients this week:

• I added $2M net new assets so far in 2025

• I’m trying to stay focused on LI, IG, YT, and email

• I missed the last two newsletters, looking to get back track next month

• Haven’t been consistent on my podcast

• Who is that content supposed to be attracting? It’s not aimed at your ideal client, what was your intention—let’s discuss?

• Stop playing games with the LinkedIn typeface and bold font tricks—A great message is a great message; you don’t need special characters to generate new conversations

• Lost a large client to a large asset manager, couple claimed they preferred their “comprehensive in-house services”

• Not sure what kind of imagery to use on LinkedIn?

Action items: Hire a photographer and get 2-3 dozen self-portrait images taken in various outfits

Action items: Use stock, Google, or self-taken images to use as the background for your digital quote cards

Action items: Clean up your LinkedIn bio and let’s pin various posts and topics on your profile; i.g., How to subscribe to your newsletter

Action items: Film a couple videos addressing the two most memorable conversations you had last week; send to me (or your producer)

If you found this helpful and have friends, colleagues, or family in financial services that might benefit from reading a few raw marketing notes every week, I'd be thrilled if you shared this with them.

I hope you have a great week, thanks for reading.
