Marketing Notes, Week Ending 5/11
Those that are consistently winning do this
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s 💐💜 — Your job’s the hardest and you deserve more days of dedication and rest.
I had some notes that were more direct that I could’ve tackled today but instead I wanted to focus on this:
For many of you, when it comes to marketing, the biggest mistake that you make or fall victim to is that you get bored.
For some reason, instead of staying focused on the 2-3 things that you should be executing on and improving on week over week, you get bored and start to tinker and mix in other “things.”
Soon the 2-3 things that you should’ve been doing fall by the wayside as you’re now hours deep into some new platform, app, or workflow that caught your attention and the distractions are causing you to fall further behind.
Here’s what I see from those that are consistently winning: They’re executing at a very high level on the foundational marketing behaviors that they know, trust, and have seen work. They stick with them, get better at them, and keep them rolling.
Mayhem works for Allstate
“Don’t be like your parents” works for Progressive
Don’t fight what works.
My quick advice is to find the platform best aligned for your voice and skill set, create high-quality, creative content for it, distribute it consistently, while you grow the network.
Commit to this for many months and even years.

I saw this on Friday, and it stuck with me “The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient” - Warren Buffett
Your marketing’s no different—find an outlet that works for you and learn to get patient with it.
Happy Sunday evening, let’s have a great week.
Cheers,
Corey
