Marketing Notes, Week Ending 7/27
What are the most successful ones doing?
(I thought this might be helpful to share)
I met with a prospective new client earlier this week. He asked straight-up: “Based on what you’re seeing, what are the most successful advisors doing?”
I told him the following:
I can only speak for advisors and firms that I’m working with, which is about a dozen total.
But in a nutshell what separates them from those that are struggling, dabbling, have plateaued, and/or are dying for incoming messages vs. outbound sales is that they’re committed and consistent.
They’ve committed to high-quality marketing; they’ve hired (in-house or third-party), or they’re really good DIY marketers and tackle all of it themselves.
They’re bought-in and have remained consistent with it, for years.
Every single advisor and small firm that I’ve seen be successful through marketing is applying both of those attributes and the inbound leads take care of themselves.
They’re all at a point that they can’t see it any other way, there’s no debate that it’s part of their business model, and it’s simply become part of the overall business flywheel that continues to generate.
The more they do, the more they do—in all things.
I know it’s trite, but it just applies. Think about health and fitness and whether it’s you or someone close to you that’s been committed to it for several years. Think of the habits, the commitment and the follow-through. Sure, there are off days, even weeks, but over time the behavior all maps toward a healthier and stronger lifestyle.
It’s the same with business, when you’re committed and consistent toward growth, they whole thing eventually just becomes richer, bigger, and fuller.
Have a great week all, hope you’re enjoying summer.
